Fielding Lewis' Store On the corner of Caroline and Lewis streets, sits a small red brick  building built in 1749. This building was originally the Fielding Lewis Store. Besides being one of the oldest buildings in America and the oldest in Fredericksburg the Fielding Lewis store can also claim the George Washington shopped here.   More >>

Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts Located on the banks of the Rappahannock River, at the foot of George St. It was built in 1785, by a John Brownlow and occupied from 1792-1808 by a prominent silversmith, James Brown.  The foundation was made of massive sandstone blocks that probably has helped it survive the elements.  It is now used by the Fredericksburg Center of Creative Arts after being saved from demolition.  More >>

Fredericksburg Court House A Victorian Gothic Revival style building designed, (built in 1852), by the architect of St. Patrick's Cathedral, in New York and of the original Smithsonian Institute building. Not only is this building the current Court House, but inside, visitors will find Mary Ball Washington's (George Washington's Mother) will and appointment of her husband, Augustine trustee of Fredericksburg on display. Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center The Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center is located in the old 1816 Town Hall / Market House. The upper levels of the building housed the City Hall and the lowest level housed the old open air market house. Today you can still see the large metal hooks on the side of the lowest level where meat was once hung and placed for sale. Fredericksburg Train Station

Fredericksburg Train Station Historic train station that ran trains for both the North and South during the Civil War. The rail line suffered much damage but was important for both Union and Confederate strategies. Today the train station is used by the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) and Amtrak.
