Amtrak runs trains
from Fredericksburg to most anywhere, including DC. Trains can be
caught at any of the VRE stations. Viist the Amtrak web site for schedule
and fares. You can also pick-up the Auto-Train (transports your car) at
Lorton.

The Virginia
Railway Express was setup to help with traffic. The VRE runs from Fredericksburg
to Washington DC carrying commuters to the Springfield/Washington Area
daily. It runs from Fredericksburg to DC all day long. VRE operates three
stations in the Fredericksburg and Stafford area. Visit their web site

is a website that animated the schedules and route of the VRE and Amtrak
