people” by Front Porch.
As a long-time elected member of the Fredericksburg City School Board,
Kerry has a proven record of results.
She has established good working relationships
with fellow elected officials to make our schools better and keep our community
strong. She will carry that same spirit
of cooperation to her work on City Council.
Fredericksburg’s
Future Kerry’s goals as a School
Board member and her goals on Council are the same - TO
IMPROVE OUR QUALITY OF LIFE AND HOLD DOWN OUR TAXES.
Kerry wants to maintain and
enhance the special character of our city by working with community organizations
to identify projects and secure funding to beautify our neighborhoods.
Kerry supports building a year
round pool.
She favors expanding the city’s
walking trails and bike paths to interconnect with city parks, schools,
and neighborhoods.
Kerry supports revitalization
of our downtown, including the creation of a riverfront park, to bolster
tourism and economic development.
Kerry supports keeping the Dorothy
Hart center as a Senior Center.
She strongly supports sound
financial management. That’s why, as a member of the school board,
she promoted an innovative public-private partnership to build our new
schools to save taxpayer’s money. By moving forward quickly the city
can take advantage of low interest rates that will save city taxpayers
millions over the next 20 years.

Securing agreement to build
a new high school and upper elementary school by 2006.

for two new “turn-key” schools through the Public-Private Education Act.
Negotiating safety issues for
the Hugh Mercer entrance Initiating improvements at Maury Stadium.
