City of Fredericksburg Police Car
The City of Fredericksburg has several Police offers that are trained to patrol on horse back. The police department is in charge of approximately 10 ½ square miles or roughly 20,000 residents and 80,000 – 130,000 visitors.

You will find the officers patrolling the Fredericksburg area but they can help out Stafford or Spotsylvania Counties due to the mutual agreement they have together.

Visitors may visit the Information Bureau, 616 Caroline Street (next to the Visitor’s Center parking lot). They are open Monday through Friday 9:00AM – 4:30PM.

The patch that the officers wear on their uniform has meaning to those who wear it as it represents the Towns history from the Revolutionary War to the Civil War and also its British colonial past.
