The 2000 Fredericksburg Agricultural Fair not only had games, rides, music, but animals, both farm and domestic. Many of the animals are for sale and could be purchased throughout the run of the fair. Once the fair is finished, the new owners of the animals can pick-up their purchase and take them home. Please remember that not all the animals are up for sale and that they may be some child's pet so please treat the critters as though they were your own. The animal barns are located near the main entrance to the fair grounds and normally have cows, horses, sheep, goats, rabbits and all sorts of fowl to include, ducks, geese, turkeys, rosters and pheasants. Pony rides are also offered near the barns. The fair also has a 4-H Horse Show each year and a Pet Show which is judged in handling, obedience and costume classes and includes mostly dogs and cats (other pets welcome).
