STAFFORD
This
event has been gaining popularity over the past few years, partly because
of its easy access, simple and quick after the fireworks exits, and in
part because it is 100% free (minus a few dollars for food and I do
mean just a few, the food is very low cost). The Stafford Jaycees and radio
station B101.5 hold a huge fireworks display at Mt. Ararat Baptist
Church off Garrisonville Road in North Stafford. Entertainment will include
Papa Doo Run Run (the official back
up band of the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, and House Party Band of Disneyland
for 15 years), Eddie Mason from the Washington Redskins will also
make an appearance at the festivities.
The 2002 fireworks start
at 9:25 p.m. (B101.5 starts to broadcast the Official 4th of July Patriotic
Soundtrack at 9:00) and the display is by Alonzo Fireworks which produced
the fireworks display at the 2002 Olympic Closing Ceremonies in Syndey!
There are also lots of free
activities for the kids, with games and inflatables. Teens have their own
amusement area with bands, games and amusements. It's fun for the whole
family. Bring a blanket and come and enjoy the free concert.
Activities start
at 5 p.m.
Eddie Mason speaks at 6:15
p.m.
Papa Doo Run Run takes the
stage at 7 p.m.
The Fireworks display is
scheduled to start around 9:25 p.m.
