A
dog's guide to
Historic
Fredericksburg
Some Helpful tips
for keeping Historic Fredricksburg a dog-friendly neighborhood
Clean
up after your dog; this is a city ordinance as well as the polite
thing to do. DogDayz has complimentary
bags available if you run out.
Keep
your dog on leash at all times; if you are using a retractable lead, keep
it locked in the 4-6 foot range while in shops and on city sidewalks.
Just
because your dog loves all other dogs, don't assume that every other dog
you meet is dog friendly. Ask the owner before letting your dog socialize.
Don't
assume that all people love dogs; if someone is frightened of your
dog, keep the dog close at your side when passing.
If your dog has an accident in a shop, PLEASE notify the shop employee
immediately. One accident is not a huge problem, 10 more dogs finding
and marking over the spot is a *big* problem.
Dog Friendly SHOPS The following
shops and banks welcome well-behaved leashed dogs. Where
noted, these shops may also have a dog on the premises; please
take your dog into these shops only if he/she is dog-friendly.
